Of the golf courses themselves

Golfers in Brittany

Le Val Queven is an 18 hole 6100M course with a Standard Scratch par of 72.  Gently undulating; it mixes open spaces, water hazards and super views.  Not quite as difficult as some of the other courses in the area, it remains nonetheless a good test for the thoughtful golfer.  Excellent facilities include friendly staff, good lunchtime food, covered range and pitch and putt.

Ploemeur Ocean is an 18-hole par 72.  The nearest thing to a links course on the southern Brittany coast.  Undulating fairways, gorse and heather.  Quite a challenge, even for the accurate golfer.  Fabulous seaside views.

L’Odet has a 9 hole 971M course, par 27 and an 18 hole 5843M course par 72 and is close to the seaside resort of Bénodet.  This course sits in 130 hectares of magnificent wood and parkland, where traditional Breton hedges separate the large fairways.  Above all this course has good quality and well-maintained greens.

Baden 18 holes par 72.  Great variety.  Set on an inlet of the inland sea of the Morbihan, it offers super views.  The last inward holes are through forested land, whilst gorse and heather and water hazards make up the first 2/3 of the course.

St Laurent 18 hole & 9 hole courses.  A championship style challenge.  The par 4s are quite long and many of the drives are through a narrow corridor.  There are water hazards and many varieties of trees ready for the wayward hitter.  A tough, but thoroughly enjoyable test of golf.

Le Val Queven and Plomeur Ocean are just 20 minutes drive from Gwennroz.   St Laurent 40 minutes, Baden and L’Odet 50 minutes
