The sleepy hamlet of Penhouet is the perfect base for families or large groups looking for a peaceful location and complete relaxation in the beautiful Blavet Valley region of Brittany. The River Blavet, popular with anglers, also offers superb walking and cycling tracks. There is also a canoeing centre at nearby Pont Augan. For golfers the area offers half a dozen excellent, un-crowded courses. The renowned beaches of Southern Brittany and the Golfe du Morbihan are within easy reach and the market towns of Baud and Languidic, with their excellent range of shops and restaurants, are within a short drive.

Just 2 kms from the hamlet is an excellent riding stables at St Leon. The two forests are nearby and offer literally miles of marked tracks for cycling and walking. In addition there is a lovely children's' adventure playground set in the forest close to Camors.

The immediate region offers a wealth of interest, including the famous and mysterious megaliths which are dotted all over Morbihan but most famously at Carnac. There is also a recreated living mediaeval village at Poul Fetan which is well worth exploring.

Whether your "thing" is relaxing by the pool, playing golf on the superb un-crowded courses of Morbihan, fishing the Blavet or enjoying the superb South Brittany beaches, our cottages at Penhouet will provide the perfect base.

La Vielle Ecurie Gite: 4 bedrooms, 2 double with en-suite (1 bath, 1 shower) twin cabin room with bunk beds ideal for 2 children sharing and a charming first floor studio room in the “Petite Ecurie”. Separate family bathroom close to the ground floor bedrooms. Situated at first floor level is a beautiful big lounge with a futon and a superb farmhouse style kitchen/dining room with double doors to spacious wooden deck with steps down to garden. Real wood floors in all bedrooms and lounge.
