Kergudon has been a place of peace and serenity since a presbytery was established here in the 17th century - part of the property dates from 1640, its massive wooden beams and open fire place a reminder of centuries gone by. The presbytery and stables have been tastefully converted to provide luxury holiday accommodation in a stunning combination of modern facilities and timeless French style and character.

Kergudon is situated in an acre of sunny gardens and each of our four properties has large private gardens with comfortable outdoor seating areas, sun loungers, hard wood garden furniture and parasols.

Situated just a short walk from the beautiful Lake Drennec, Kergudon occupies a tranquil setting surrounded by forests and woodland walks and yet is only a short drive from stunning beaches and picturesque French villages.

We have four properties that can be hired individually or as a whole. Each of our properties has everything you are likely to need for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. We even have bicycles and kayaks for our guests to use free of charge!

Kergudon is located in the hamlet of St Cadou, deep in the heart of Brittany’s Armorique National Park, less than a mile from the beautiful Lake Drennec. Kergudon is surrounded by forests and the stunning countryside of the Monts d’Arree, and is loved by all that visit. Quiet and unhurried, St Cadou is not for those seeking bars and restaurants on their doorstep. However, just an eight minute drive away is Sizun where you will find restaurants, bars, shops, banks, a pharmacy, tourist information centre and an open air swimming pool (summer only).
A five mile walk circles the nearby lake and there is a creperie restaurant half way round from where you can enjoy a meal or a drink.

St Cadou is very well placed to explore all the delights of Western Brittany. There are endless choices of beaches and attractions including activities such as horse riding, sailing and windsurfing. A detailed information pack assembled by the owners will guide you to walks,beaches, attractions, cycle routes and restaurants in the area.

The following is a flavour of what can easily be reached from us: Sizun • 8 mins drive - small market town with all usual facilities including bars and restaurants. Morlaix • 30 mins drive - ancient and attractive market town popular with visitors. Gateway to the ‘pink granite’ coast. Landivisiau/Landerneau • 20 mins drive -interesting and busy towns with large hypermarkets and extensive shopping facilities. Chateaulin • 20 mins drive - situated on the banks of the River Aulne, a beautiful town much loved by visitors. Brest • 30 mins drive -the regional centre of Western Brittany and home to a number of attractions including Oceanopolis, Europe’s largest aquarium. Crozon Peninsula • 35 mins drive - home to stunning beaches and delightful seaside settlements such as Camaret and Morgat. Quimper • 45 mins drive - attractive regional centre and gateway to the south of the region. Concarneau • 45 mins drive - famous fishing port and historic walled town.

All of our properties are constantly redecorated and refurbished; quite simply our aim is to provide luxury accommodation for all our guests. A ‘home from home’ feel is achieved through a high standard of furnishings and a comprehensive list of equipment. This includes most of which you will find in your own kitchen through to high quality garden furniture and garden games. Video and DVD players with a selection of films, music CDs and paperbacks are also available. We also offer free use of mountain bikes to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. A series of cycle routes have been mapped out as part of an extensive information pack available to guide you to the local walks, beaches and attractions in our area. For those of you with children, our two largest properties each have a splash pool, trampoline and table tennis table. We also have two kayaks free to use on the nearby lake.

Nearby Lake Drennec has two safe, sandy bathing beaches. An outdoor swimming pool is also open in the summer months in Sizun and a state of the art indoor and outdoor swimming complex with flume is at Landerneau. Newly restored in 2005 and redecorated each year since then, this part of Kergudon was once the old presbytery and dates from 1640. Although complete with luxury furnishings and modern facilities, the original features have been retained with oak beams, wooden floors and stone walls. A key feature of the property is the lounge with vaulted ceiling, huge stone fireplace and mezzanine floor accessed by a spiral stone staircase (separate stairs access also).

Recently refurbished and redecorated, Pendower offers high quality family accommodation along with a large private sunny garden and patio area. A wood burner ensures this property is comfortable all year round! The property comfortably sleeps 5 and benefits from two bathrooms.

Recently redecorated, this property, like The Nare, was previously one of the old presbytery’s stables. Situated adjacent to a large sunny garden, the Nook has its own private patio and parking area. This property is ideal for couples. The Nook is the smallest of the properties at Kergudon and could be described as similar to a studio flat. The property does however have a fridge and microwave allowing for limited self catering. Ideal for those looking for a bed and breakfast type holiday or as an overflow bedroom for one of the other properties.
