Two charming traditional Breton cottages, each sleeping 4 people, in a courtyard setting on a 50 acre private estate, which has direct frontage onto the Canal de Nantes a Brest.
You will have freedom to wander throughout the estate. Explore the nature trails. Picnic tables provided to enjoy the atmosphere. Relax and unwind in unspoilt countryside. Roam down the track to the fields, through the oak glade and then return along the canal to your own holiday cottage.
The canal creates an atmosphere of tranquillity along it's way and is bordered by a well maintained towpath which forms a safe and picturesque cycle and walkway to enjoy at your leisure. It also forms an ideal backdrop for fishing and birdwatching.
Each cottage has a private garden with BBQ and garden furniture. A neverending supply of refreshing water from our very own spring which never runs dry. Particularly refreshing on a hot summer day. The english owners are on hand to advise and help point you in the right direction to ensure that your stay is tailored to your individual requirements.

Magourou is situated just 3 kilometres from the market town of Rostrenen which is known as the crossroads of Brittany, due to it's central position. The town has 3 supermarkets and several restaurants, creperies and pizzerias to suit all tastes and pockets. The local patisserie is reputed to be the best in Brittany - so definitely worth a try!
The north, west and south coasts are all within an hour's drive from your holiday accommodation. The Brittany coastline offers something for everyone, whatever the weather. Or explore the peaceful Breton countryside which has the beautiful Canal de Nantes a Brest as it's centrepiece. As it's name suggests it flows and meanders from Brest in the west through many villages and towns to Nantes in the south west of Brittany. Approximately 20 kilometres from Magourou the canal flows into the Lac de Guerledan which is the largest lake in Brittany. The lake is popular with watersports enthusiasts and the watersports centre is open all year round - or relax at one of the lakeside cafes. Even nearer to hand the Lac de Glomel is only 4 kilometres away and is ideal for swimming or enjoying a day on the beach without going to the coast. A disused railway track also runs through Rostrenen which is now a designated cycle path and is ideal for families.
Travelling to Magourou has never been easier. There are many cross channel routes from Plymouth, Poole, Portsmouth and Dover. Or why not take advantage of the many low cost airlines now offering routes: Exeter, Southampton or Birmingham to Brest; Southampton to Rennes or East Midlands to Dinard.

Both cottages are renovated and furnished to a high standard and the room layout and traditional features are the same.

The accommodation comprises a large salle de sejour (living area) downstairs. The lounge area has an inglenook fireplace with woodburner for those cosy winter evenings. Exposed beams throughout. The kitchen has all the usual modern facilities expected including electric cooker and microwave.

Upstairs there is a modern shower room, toilet and washing facilities. There are two bedrooms, one double and one twin. Each with exposed beams and stone gable wall to give your holiday that traditional cottage feel.
You will also have the use of a separate bloc sanitaire with additional shower, toilet and washing facilities plus washing machine, tumble drier and freezer. Internet access via wi-fi.


Usual bookings are from Saturday to Saturday but please ask about short breaks and winter specials.
